Corden's Storyline: Pride Lost - Conclusion

This is written as an editorial to keep followers up with the story and not written from a particular character's perspective. If you have any questions regarding this storyline, please contact @Corden_Maximus on Twitter. Please note this storyline is intellectual property of the typist behind Corden Maximus, except for those components written by other typists. Thank you!

Out of desperation, Corden Maximus (@Corden_Maximus) made a trip to a planet located in the Outer Rim in search of a rare flower that could perhaps, hold the key to unlocking his degenerative genetic illness. With the clock ticking, and unable to wait for his wife to manufacture healing serums, Corden took his comrade Rang Skirata (@TheRangSkirata) with him on the secret journey.  Unfortunately, this particular flower grew within the territory of a merciless pirate group known as the Bloodscars; thus the territory was fiercely protected to the extent that any intruder was killed on sight.

After locating the flower, Corden and Rang were discovered.  Although they tried to outrun the Bloodscars, it was too late.  Corden was killed and only Rang survived to return to the Haate vi Jorso'ran to inform Corden's wife (@Sandal_Maximus) of Corden's death.  However, at the time of Corden's death, Sandal immediately felt the life taken from his body and collapsed in her laboratory.  Her bodyguard, Sarge (@RC_Sarge) was alerted to her falling by his "man-down" indicator and immediately rushed to find her.  In the medbay, Rang informed Sarge that Corden had died.

The following day, Sarge informed Sandal of what had happened.  That is when she told him that Corden came to her in a dream, telling her to take care of Tifa.  It was then she knew.  After release from the medbay, Sandal left Tifa with a relative as she began her grieving process.

After his death, Corden sent pre-recorded messages to his good friends Rang and Boss (@RC_Boss).  These messages contained instructions on what Corden wanted done after his demise.  Rang was instructed to take his body for a proper burial, and Boss was instructed to become head of the military Corden had amassed.  Although given the helm of the Mand'alor, Boss was hesitant and decided against assuming the post himself.  Boss approached Sandal to tell her of Corden's wishes, and she relayed that her intention was to gain revenge for the death of her husband.

In the interim, Akaan (@Akaan_dw) was sent to retrieve Corden's body from the pirates.

Corden's Storyline - Secret Serums

Sandal Maximus' Journal

I have been trying for weeks to develop a serum that will cure or reverse my husband's (@Corden_Maximus) symptoms, but to no avail. Every serum either temporarily aleviates his symptoms or worsens them. I rarely sleep, I barely have time for our daughter Tifa (@Tifa_Maximus), and each second ticks away in my mind as I worry if I will be too late.  My bodyguard, Sarge (@RC_Sarge), has been assisting in collecting new plant and mineral materials for the serums, and without his help, my research would be delayed further.

I remember hearing that crystals used for creating lightsabers could charge liquids with healing energies.  This is, of course, rarely spoken about and completely far-fetched, but in my desperation, I am willing to do anything at this point.  Each crystal, however, has a different structure and I have to be careful which I will be experimenting with.  None the less, that is the next part of my mission, to seek out healing crystals which I can use to "charge" the various serums with healing energies to enhance the serums and potions.

Corden's Storyline - Act Three - Pride Lost

Because Sandalphon Maximus (@Sandal_Maximus) is unaware of what happened recently with her husband Corden Maximus (@Corden_Maximus), this is not one of Sandal's journal entries but an update on the storyline for those who may have missed it.  This storyline is being written by the typist behind the Corden Maximus account and remains his intellectual property although it is being documented here for followers.

In Act Two, after tranquilizing Boss (@RC_Boss), Corden stepped into the darkness of space and drifted until he was picked up by a remote-controlled shuttle. It appears Corden's secret meeting with the mad Mandalorian doctor, Antos Wyrick (@Demagol_) was unsuccessful. Left with few alternatives to healing his genetic disease, Corden turns to the devil himself for help. At the beginning of Act Three, Corden is despondent. Knowing what he must do, out of sheer desperation, he contacts the ancient Sith Fanrek Andol (@Fanrek_Andol) for help. Corden fought Fanrek years prior when Sandal was still working as a Rebel operative, and successfully managed to protect her from the Sith's psychic attacks by directly confronting Fanrek.  Unfortunately, circumstances in life changed, and it is now Corden that seeks the Sith's assistance in freeing himself from the crippling disease.

In their conversation, Fanrek psychically attacks Corden and agrees to help only on one condition, that Corden must give Fanrek his baby daughter, Tifa (@Tifa_Maximus). As previously discussed between Corden and Sandal, Sandal senses the Force within tiny Tifa and was afraid that Tifa's Force signature would attract the attention of those like Fanrek. Sandal fears that Tifa would be taken, either by another Jedi or a Sith, in the same manner that Sandal herself was taken away for Jedi studies.  Knowing the lonely path ahead of Tifa, Sandal fears her daughter would not have a normal life, and could possibly fall into the hands of the dark side.  In an unspoken connection that Corden and Sandal have, he seemed to have understood this and vowed to protect their daughter from the hands of Jedi and Sith.  In his conversations with Fanrek, Corden calls off the deal, saying that that is the one thing he will not give to the Sith. Fanrek released Corden from the psychic attack, leaving the haunting message in Corden's mind.

Dialog

CM: *Flipping on the intensive care habitat controls he breathes in the sterile smelling bacta spray that emanates from the air vents, feeling the cool spray coat him and everything else* Not good for the systems, but should stave off whatever Demagol infected me with. His fingers tapping the console rapidly as he inputs instructions and new coords for after the first hyperspace jump* Second jump will make it impossible for them to track me. Even if they managed to track my outbound vector from the shuttle *sighs, resting his -head in his hands, shuddering as several tears fall on the console, letting out a few shuddering breaths* I'm sorry Sandal. Tifa. Boss.*The tears continue for several minutes. All the stress and emotion of the last few weeks leaving him, pouring out until there is nothing --left and he is completely drained* Not going to get anything done feeling sorry for myself. *wipes his face and opens the comm channel, keying in's comm channel* Fanrek... it's, it's Corden. I need your help.

FA: *reaching out through the Force, Fanrek taps into the mind of, filling his mind with his voice* Now now Corden, you know how I hate using those devices. What is it you need, my "friend?" *a low cackle echoes in Corden's head for a moment*

CM: *Gripping the sides of his head as  breaks down his mental barriers to telepathically communicate with him, gasping for breath before answering* You know it leaves me weak to reach out like that. I'm not a Jetii like you.

FA: *driving a spike of pain into Corden's mind, relishing in the waves of anguish he feels* Oh dear Corden, we've talked about this. I am not one of those weak minded fools. I am a Sith. Must I remind you again? *pushing another spike into his brain. Grinning evilly at tormenting the Mandalorian*

CM: *drops to his knees, then the floor as  drives a mental spike into his mind, gasping out his surrender* Ok...you-you're Sith I submit. Please, just stop. Please *his voice getting weak as he begins to sweat profusely, writhing in pain*

FA: *laughing coldly and continuing his assault* Is the mighty Mand'alor submitting? To me? A lowly Sith? *His voice turns *harsh as drives the spikes deeper* You are nothing to me. Nothing! Do you understand? I could kill you w barely a thought! Do not trifle with me worm! I will end you! *suddenly releasing the spikes and resuming a calm voice* Now, tell me what it is you need of me.

CM: *gasping in relief as he is released from the mental hold* I need your help. I'm sick. I believe you are familiar with it.

FA: Ah yes. Your little disease. I may be able to help you. But what will you offer me in return?

CM: I...I don't know. What do you want? I know it isn't credits. I don't have much else.

FA: *A cold and high laughter fills Corden's head* You know what I want. And I'll expect nothing less.

CM: *The drive to be able to take care of his family is all that propels Corden now. Mandalorians have no word for hero. Every Mando is to be honorable and take care of his family and is vode. A Mando who doesn't do this is a coward. A hut'uun. It is the worst insult a Mandalorian can receive. Corden's resolve is absolute. He WILL take care of his family, he WILL remain honorable, and he WILL protect his vode. If not, then there is no point in living* *his voice becoming strong again* NO. You won't have her. I'll die before I hand her over to the likes of you. She's the reason I am doing this. It does me nothing to give her to you. Deal is off.

FA: *using the Force again to drive mental spikes into Corden's mind* You have wasted my time. Something I do not appreciate.

CM: *He screams out in pain, clutching at his head, curling up in a ball on the floor* NO! I won't give her up!

FA: *driving the spikes in further* Then you will die! *laughing evilly as he tortures Corden further* You are weak!

CM: *screaming louder, retreating into the recesses of his mind to escape the pain, putting up mental barriers and shutting everything else out* No *his voice weaker* You won't have her. Not while I'm alive.

FA: Your feeble defense attempts amuse me. Maybe I will let you live

CM: *gasping out the words as Fanrek continues the torture* I won't give her to you, no matter what

FA: I think you will Maximus. I think you will *A cold laugh before he withdraws his psychic presence completely, his laugh lingering in Corden's mind, a final whisper of "I know you will" before he disappears completely*

Yes, you will give her to me. I have seen it in the Force. You will give her to me, and I will raise her as my own. The Rule Of Two will be followed. One to have power, one to covet it. You should be proud Maximus, your daughter will soon be training under the most powerful Sith the galaxy has seen in centuries.

CM: *feeling  end his psychic attack he lays exhausted on the floor, covered in sweat, a broken man* Boss was right, I am aruetii... *the thought echoes in his head as exhaustion takes over and he passes out, his cheek pressed into the durasteel plating of the floor. As Corden sleeps the ship continues on its course, bringing him ever closer to the man who just almost killed him* -end scene-

Corden's Storyline: The Time Bomb Ticketh

Sandalphon's Private Journal

My husband, Corden (@Corden_Maximus), had disturbing news to tell me today. As if losing a limb wasn't bad enough, it appears he is showing the symptoms of a rare but fatal condition that runs through the males of his family. How he has managed to live this long without showing any previous symptoms is beyond me, but he has sent blood samples to various scientists for analysis... and hopefully a cure. There is so much weighing upon my shoulders. To watch my husband fade away rips my entire self in half, yet I have to remain strong. Why? Well, I have our daughter (@Tifa_Maximus) to think of and to the outside world, this has to remain hidden.  If the Kyrt'sad (@Kyrtsad @DW_Mali) were to get wind of this, I fear an attack imminent.

But I am numb inside. Losing my Corden is something I cannot bear to think of, as the thought ... I can't continue along those lines. It is losing a part of myself, it is as if I am dying too. And to think our daughter may have this genetic disease and can pass it along to her children... the thought is too disturbing to continue.

I am setting aside weapons research, the KOSMOS project, and all other diplomatic missions until the cure can be found. Well, to maintain that things are normal, I will carry out some of these, but my primary focus will be on analyzing the data that my husband has provided to me.  I understand that the Kaminoans are also searching for the cure. But who knows what they will do with that genetic material. I do not trust the cloners, but maybe they can break the genetic code and free him of this disease.

I intend to take this day-by-day.  Luckily, I will have the understanding of Boss (@RC_Boss) and the ad'ika (@_JMalik) to comfort me while I go through this. I hope we can keep the Kyrt'sad out of this until we can find a cure. They would see a weakened leader as an opportunity....

The race is on. The time bomb ticketh.

SERAPHIC'S STORYLINE - Enter the Admiral

Seraphic Phenyx Reporting

I have been working for the Admiral (@Admiral_Stryker) for several months now, and he seems to have shown a strong interest in me.  It wasn't until last night that I realized to the extent that he was interested. It appears that he has been interested since before when I was Captain Tanner's assistant.  I remember seeing Stryker around, but I guess I never paid much attention. He says that taking the helm of the Imperial fleet has given him some sort of different perspective and he finally confessed his feelings for me.  Well, I think the wine he had been drinking also helped loosen his lips.

However, I am trying to maintain my professionalism and keep in mind that I am a Rebellion spy.

Corden's Storyline - New Friends

Sandalphon Maximus' Private Journal

Where would we be, if not for our friends? My husband (@Corden_Maximus) and I have found our friendship and family circles steadily increasing. And we both feel incredibly blessed. It is hard to remember those blessings in the hub-ub of the day, and often I find myself irritated at things that aren't going well and letting those feelings cloud the good ones.

But recently, we have found our relationships with others has grown immensely.  In the cold and dark recesses of space, I have found the warmth of other spirits. I never felt this before. I have always been alone in my travels and missions, but to finally relax, sit back, and enjoy the company of like-minded beings has been an eye-opener. My husband is better at relaxing than I am, I admit, and I guess a part of his laid-back lifestyle is starting to rub off on me.

We recently adopted Joseph Malik (@_JMalik) into Clan Maximus. The ad'ika is quite energetic, but very sweet and gentle all the same. I can see how my husband adores him like his own son, which at this time, we both consider him ours.

Our dear friend Boss (@RC_Boss) married his girlfriend (@Tracyn_) and extended our friendship circle as well.

We met a very sweet woman by the name of Arien (@Arienh) who is with a Republic Clone (@Darman1136).

And there are others, of course, that we have grown fond of. My husband tells me of the recent adventures of Sev (@Delta_Sev) and Scorch (@62Scorch) have been instrumental in infiltrating the Kyrt'sad.

Without friends, our lives feel incomplete. That is what I have come to realize since leaving the Rebellion to take up my husband's cause. Without my daughter and husband, my life was expendable.  But now, I have a reason to continue fighting, but this time, I promise not to get myself captured.
