Corden's Storyline: Mand'alor Talyc and the Death Watch Mandos

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

Semi-retired Operative Nyx (@Sandal_Maximus) is not aware of what has been transpiring around her husband, Corden Maximus (@Corden_Maximus), but I am.  I am reproducing several of his transmissions in which he has proclaimed himself Mand'alor and took on the kyrt'sad (Death Watch Mandalorians).  I do not know the future ramifications of his actions, but I worry if Sandal will be okay.  Here are the transmissions I intercepted:

Piett's Storyline - The Imperial Dilemma

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

My wife (Wicket) and I snuck back onto the Executor after being away for a few days, and found Operative Nyx (@CelestyalPhenyx) in a medical bay room in the intensive care unit (ICU).  It appears she defended the Rebel Hoth base and sustained a major injury in the ensuing battle.  Admiral Piett (@Admiral_Piett) notified me that she had an injured lung and went into cardiac arrest on the operating table.  Luckily, she managed to survive and is stable (yet still critical) in the medical bay.

It appears Admiral Piett is being followed and his texting device was stolen.  Luckily, the texting device had a tracking program embedded in the chip and it appeared that someone with a high level clearance within the Executor is the one tracking Piett's moments, and blocking Nyx' ability to contact the Rebellion.

And unknown to him, Piett summoned an Imperial Captain (@Imperial_Capt - Temporary account) into the medical bay where they confronted each other over several hours.  I suspect that Piett knows the Captain is up to no good, but has yet to figure out how to lure the Captain from whatever safe haven he hides from.

Operative Nyx is still in ICU and I will be updating her reports as necessary.

Corden's Storyline - A Cruddy Day Just Got Cruddier

Operative Nyx Reporting

I have been told I have a rather foul temper, and I think the day went from "barely miffed" to completely "kark faced" in barely a few hours.  I woke up with Corden (@Corden_Maximus) playing my game against me, and I ended up feeling upset that he actually took me seriously (or tried to teach me a lesson by giving me my own attitude back).  So I left the station to take a breather and begin working on the light-sided weapon that I had taken the crystals and blueprints from the Beregen Vaults for.  I brought them to a beachhouse I have on a small inhabited planet, at which time, the Emp (@EmpChihuahua) asked me why I seemed agitated.  Little did I know, I had accidentally cut myself while trying to assemble the light side weapon, and went to bandage myself up.  It was then I realized I was pretty upset and decided to take the dogs and Beskar'ad to the waterfall for a little swim.  I accidentally left my pendant and distress beacon on the rocks, and returned to the beachhouse.

It was there that Beskar'ad was disabled, and my dogs and I were tranquilized.  I awoke to find myself captured by a Mandalorian bounty hunter (@Fenris_Artymis).  He attempted to have me coerce Corden into paying him 300,000 credits, and when Corden wasn't buying it, he offered to sell me into Jabba the Hutt's harem.  I finally convinced him that I had a storage facility full of stuff on Dattooine (total lie), and when we got into the marshes, I choked him with a chain he had wrapped around my hands.  I fled into the swamp and he quickly followed.  Unfortunately, running through a swamp in lingerie is NOT the most intelligent thing I have ever done.  Have I done it before?  Yes.  Would I ever do it again?  Probably, but not because I really want to.  It's easier to lose my scent and trackers in a murky swamp versus the desert or even a forest, but the insect bites are usually horrid.

On Dattooine, I ran as far as I could get, but Fenris remained in close pursuit.  Luckily, Corden and Beskar'ad arrived and began hunting him at that exact same time.  None the less, Fenris finally caught up and stunned me, taking up a defensive position as Corden and Beskar'ad closed in.  It was there that although stunned, I noticed a strange Mandolorian symbol on his shoulder, at which time he must have noticed my eye movement and said, "Kyr'tsad" (or loosely translated as, "Death Watch" which are a breakaway Mandalorian sect believing themselves to be the only true Mandalorians, wishing to return their people to a lifestyle of complete brutality and savageness).  As Beskar'ad approached from the side, Fenris through electronics disabling grenades at the droid, and Corden slipped in behind, rifle butting Fenris unconscious.

Corden took Fenris into the brig while I washed up and changed.  It was then I went to sleep.  And yes, I know exactly what Corden would have said, "if you stayed on the station, you wouldn't have run into these problems!" Yeah, score another one for Mr. Hindsight over there.

EmpChihuahua Supplementary Report

I normally keep my nose out of Nyx' business (okay, that's a complete lie!), but Corden requested a moment of my time.  So he and I had a "man-to-poochi" chat and agreed to set aside our differences for Nyx' sake.  It was then he asked why I didn't like him, and I explained because of his close emotional proximity to Nyx, she would be willing to sacrifice everything for him.  And when I say everything yes that includes her life.  I have seen her when she gets emotionally entangled with someone and it can be very taxing on both her and myself.  I say myself because she gets in moods or funks and then there goes the entire day.  I won't go into her mood as I saw it this morning because I believe she accurately described it in her report. Lastly, I did tell him that she cares about him deeply, and if he decides to propose, he should wait at least until she has had a chance to break off her engagement to Admiral Piett (@Admiral_Piett).  I will see if he takes me up on that advice.

Unlocking Nyx' Memories

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

Operative Nyx went into a psychic lock yesterday because one of her locked memories were triggered by the Admiral.  I told him to stay away from her, but the guy is so karkin' stubborn.  I called on the help of Nij'uan again, and he performed the dream merge for the Admiral to enter the dream space.  I do not know the details of what was there, but the Admiral mentioned seeing some of the spirit guides that live in the dream world, and a shadowy Jedi figure.  The Jedi figure worries me.  I know who it is, and he intends to recall Nyx from the mission and return her to Rebellion HQ.  Unfortunately, I believe his intentions are purely selfish, thus the reason he is haunting her mind space when she is caught in the dream world.

The Admiral managed to return one memory.  I don't know which one, but Nyx will not be able to retreive it consciously until she sleeps next.  At that time, she will re-experience the memory, but think of it as a dream.  When a few more memories are accurately retreived, her memory will be fully restored.  What this means for her career in the Rebellion is unknown as her Jedi will know she is compromised.  I do not know if this is the reason for the original attack on the Executor.  He never came forward at the debriefing meeting and admitted it was an extraction mission, but I can only conclude at this point that it was.

The Price of Love

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

Operative Nyx spent too much time in the dream world today attempting to help a Sith assassin that continually attempts to bother her, and in doing so, left herself exposed to be psychically scanned.  The Rebellion found out about her memories of the Admiral, Bryce, the bounty hunter, and the Assassin and found her to be compromised at the highest level.  Operative Nyx is a very high ranking spy, with intelligence that only the highest levels of the Rebellion are privy to, and they wanted to relocate her but I offered to have her memories erased.  It makes no sense because those she interacted with know who she is, but in doing this, she will be able to still be around her friends (albeit she won't recognize them at all).  When an operative is compromised to where their heart is completely open (as is the case with the Admiral), they are willing to say anything to their beloved.  Operative Nyx will now see all Empire as enemies and continue in her mission.  Luckily, only the Admiral, Bryce, the bounty hunter, and the Assassin are aware of her true identity.  This will allow her to resume her espionage duties for the time being.

The procedure was performed by Nij'uan, a highly skilled Kiffar who was able to send a doppleganger to the small Rebel moon outpost nearby.  He uploaded the report that he did not find anything of concern in her memory banks, thus the Rebellion no longer believes she has been compromised.  But he still completed the memory "lock-down" procedure at my request so that if she is scanned again, nothing can be found on her.  But I am afraid the one who scanned her memory knows the truth, and will fight aggressively to bring her back home.  Luckily, Nij'uan is such a respected Rebel ally that his word overrode all previous reports on her.

She rests on the bed in front of me.  I am afraid that if any one of her previous memories are unintentionally or intentionally sparked, she will experience severe headaches and require medical attention.  This is the price that compromised operatives pay for their desire to love the enemy.  Israfil, Nyx previous partner, also had the same fate when she developed a relationship with one of her Empire contacts.  Suffice it to say, Israfil underwent the procedure and the relationship ended.  Israfil was able to complete several more missions prior to being killed by the Emporer.  As for her Empire contact, not much is known about what happened to him.

As a side note, the procedure isn't well-known because it involves possibly breaking down the psychological barriers of the operative.  Only strong-minded operatives are offered the choice, but the price they pay is quite extreme.  I sent text messages to the Admiral, but I do not know if he is even aware of the issue.  To my knowledge, he is still asleep.

The Rebel's Secret

Operative EmpChihuahua's Journal

I fear that Operative Nyx has been compromised at the highest level.  It happens to the best of us.  I tried to get her to think about her actions, but I think at this point, she is considering leaving the Rebellion for a life of serenity.  But the war will never end.  If it doesn't, then even her precious Naboo will be in trouble.

I miss her though.  Wicket cries at night for her.  But I have been maintaining my cover and gathering data.

I hid her secret at the debriefing meetings I had at Rebellion HQ.  If they find out, she will be immediately recalled.  If she is, she will face one of two choices.  Either she leaves the mission and will most likely never be stationed on the Executor again, or she will have to undergo a memory erasure.  It's kind of a misnaming, but essentially all memories from this last mission will be locked and inaccessible consciously.  She will return to the ship as if it were her first day.  It is said to be forgotten is worse than death.  I don't know how this will affect the Admiral, but to think he will be forgotten may be a certain death sentence.  But to protect him, knowing Nyx, she would do this.

I hide her secret because I know she will be torn having to make this decision.

The Isolation

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

Operative Nyx snapped last night.  I think being isolated from her Jedi friends and the Rebellion are starting to creep into her psyche, not to mention she has been talking about a strange feeling in the Force for a few days.  She hardly sleeps now and spends most of her time looking at the stars.  She has isolated herself from me and Wicket quite a bit lately, and I wonder if she is okay.  She has never been away on a mission for months like this, and I think she bit off more than she can chew on this one.  I have watched her and have noticed her strong desire to be with the Admiral is clouding her judgement.

And from what I gather, she was imploding again last night.

Let me be the first to explain I have been with Nyx ever since I was a pup.  She raised me and for that I am eternally grateful.  But Nyx is still young in Kiffar/human terms and sometimes lacks the ability to control her strong emotions.  I know when she is imploding, and it is hard to watch her suffer so much.  She struggles where she puts her duty (which is very Kiffar) before her emotions (which are very human).  Her first Jedi master saw this in her and tried to temper her temper (so to speak), and managed to get her to calm down when she reached that place.

But once her eyes glaze over to red, she is losing complete control.  The blue eyes I can deal with because she is still in control of herself, but the red ones are dangerous.  Luckily, when I mentioned that there was no way we were getting off the Executor alive, she managed to calm down.  I don't know what the Admiral said to her, but by the time Wicket and I returned to our room to sleep, I could sense she was connecting to her fears and pain.  If she is in that place, she can be reasoned with.

Part of this is her learning that the Admiral has a schedule, but also for him to realize she has needs to.  He seems to be constantly preoccupied and it rips her apart because he is her only connection to who she really is.  Again, all of this is a part of being a spy, and although she is indeed gifted in espionage, she lacks the emotional fortitude to get her through some days.  I think the stress is beginning to wear on her, and it shows.  Whenever I wake up, I can sense her mind is somewhere.

Again, I do not like the Admiral because he can inadvertantly hurt her deeply.  And the episode tonight showed just that.  I do not know if he realizes who he is dealing with and once she puts her mind to something, she can very easily blow the entire ship up.  I did not hear any alarms last night, which means that her intrusion into the War Room and various databases probably went unnoticed.

The Lost Operative

Operative EmpChihuahua Reporting

I feel that Operative Nyx is abandoning her mission.  She has lost sight that the Empire are our enemies, even caring about the loss of their ranks in yesterday's deadly attack.  I understand that she sees each life as precious, but without the protection of the Admiral, I fear she would have gotten herself in deep trouble already.  I haven't spoken much to her or the Admiral, as I am letting their relationship run its course.  I hope that she will see someday soon, that we are the Empires' enemies.  I do not know what it will take to get her to open her eyes, but I hope that it will happen rather quickly.

Nyx is great at gathering information, but she appears to be hesitant to do so on this mission.  I fear she worries if she completes her objective, then her mission will be complete and she must return to the Rebellion HQ.  I know she has deep feelings for the Admiral and to leave him in such a manner would hurt her deeply.  I completed some research on the Admiral, and it appears he makes no mention of her in his own journal.  I am concerned about this because I wonder if she puts more energy into the relationship than he does.  If this is the case, then it is possible he is only using her to gain access to Rebellion intelligence or to stop her.

I have received word the Rebellion intends to launch a full-scale attack on the Executor. I have not mentioned this to Nyx because I do not know which side she will fight for.  Will she fight for the Rebels or will she fight for the Empire?  At this point, she has to make a choice.  This will be our one opportunity to destroy Darth Vader, and I cannot make this decision for her.  I know she will do everything in her power to protect the Admiral, out of her deep love for him, but she risks being detected by Darth Vader if she uses any of her Force abilities.  Once detected, she will have to choose between the two sides.  And I fear she will choose her heart over her mind, and do anything to stay with the Admiral.  She is my family so Wicket and I have decided we will stay with her until the end, but I cannot watch her change the way she has been recently.  It is as if the mission has been postponed for her desire for love.

Jedi into a Sith

Operative Nyx' Journal

I felt all of the feelings well within me.  Frustration, anger, fear, and finally hatred as I watched the young girl be murdered at the hands of the Sith assassin.  He seemed to revel in the fact that I had to bear witness to it, and I had to experience it for myself.  I awoke to find a bruise above my heart, the same place that the young girl was pierced.  I felt her spirit lift from her body and I was angry.  I was angry at the assassin, angry at myself for being so weak, and angry that no one could stop it.  I felt so... powerless.

Operative Emporer Chihuahua's Journal

Operative Nyx has been sheltered most of her life.  The pain she experienced was that of loss of her father, mother, her first master, and the loss of her first love.  Even with these "losses", she is able to maintain a psychic connection to those spirits and thus the loss is not really a loss since she can still feel them.  She has never witnessed a senseless and violent death.  She tends to see the world through rose-colored glasses and thinks she will be safe on the basis of her outlook on life.  She said a part of her was lost in witnessing the death of that young girl, and yet I wonder if Nyx' observation wasn't accurate of how we all feel in those circumstances.  I worry if her desire for revenge won't overtake her to the point she seeks out and destroys the assassin.

And yes, I did open a communication channel briefly to Piett to give him perspective.  I did this not for him, but because of my love for her.  I realize I cannot provide everything she needs in her life, but I can try to help her get the help she needs.  He's a bit clueless, so I risked revealing my thoughts for her sake.  It is easier to maintain cover if I appear her faithful puppy versus her partner in the mission.  He seemed sincere in his regard for her welfare, thinking he could protect her, but as I explained, he cannot protect her from the dark side.  I seem to believe he thinks his caring and love will save her from turning, and I don't quite know if that is enough.  My last thought to him was that she needed to be recalled from the mission and go home.  I do not know if he fully understood what that meant, but I hope he takes that into consideration.

I will continue to maintain my vigilance over Operative Nyx.  If I believe she is in extreme danger to herself or others, I will recall the mission myself.  And with that, if she cannot control her strong emotions, we all know that is how the dark side begins to take hold.  For her safety, she will need to be recalled if it gets that far.

Testing the Admiral

Operative Emporer Chihuahua Reporting

Let it be known I shall never call Admiral Piett by his first name, and he shall be known as "Piett" or the "Admiral" in all future reporting.  I would prefer to write, "num nutts" but this is a professional report so I will maintain it as such.  I rewired the droid assigned to walk my wife, Wicket, and me around for our daily walks.  It is now my slave and will operate as I command.  This particular droid is maintained on a semi-monthly basis so the reprogramming should not be discovered, as I will switch back to the original programming prior to its scheduled repairs.

As stated earlier, Piett has been giving me the cold shoulder.  Operative Nyx went to sleep prior to me being able to debrief with her, but I was able to scan her thought patterns and keep an open telepathic link while she was talking with Piett.  It appears Piett is disturbed I do not like him, and Nyx explained that I never would.  This part is the truth.  He smells of deception and as long as Nyx is eating out of his hand, then he will never be trustworthy.  Even if he does not hurt her or even myself or my wife, Nyx can easily be compromised to giving out the locations of each Rebel base.  I do not know if she recognizes this problem or not, but I believe as soon as the Admiral gets what it is he is after, he will abandon her.  I know that will crush her inside, and that is ultimately why I do not trust him.  Nyx is my family, and I will protect her to the best extent of my ability, even if I end up looking like the bad guy (how ironic).

Wicket and I searched Piett's quarters and found some contraband in which I stowed away in our droid.  This shall be used for, further evidence, perhaps.  Other than that, Nyx is confident that the information we need is located in the main frame computer in the War Room or in Piett's office.  We will be coming up soon on the abandoned rebel base, and I know Nyx is handling that fine.

And I did re-route Operative Nyx' journal and field report submissions so that Piett could not locate them.  It appears this was a successful move and I will continue to do so, to protect her at all costs.

The Compromised Operative

Operative Emporer Chihuahua Reporting

It has come to my attention that Operative Nyx is not functioning clearly and her mind is clouded by her human emotions.  I am assuming a second set of reporting duties at this point as she has been compromised and her reporting is no longer valid, in my opinion.  I am with Operative Nyx for a majority of the day, therefore I know her whereabouts.  Luckily, I have been allowed to accompany her throughout her routine as secretary to the Admiral.  But she is not herself.  She is in a mental space that is clouding her objectivity.  I will continue to watch over her.  If I notice her continuing this downward spiral, I will make the arrangement to get her reassigned.

I fear this assignment was too much for her.

I confronted the Admiral and in the discussion, he shut off the comm line to me.  There is something afoot and I am getting closer to aborting this mission on the authority that although it is Nyx' assignment, I am still the ranking officer.  I do not want to hurt her feelings in reminding her, but she needs to obey my commands.
